$125USD Per Person
Your adventure starts in the village of San Jose Succotz, where a hand-cranked ferry takes you across the Mopan River—an experience in itself. From there, we travel just one mile uphill to reach Xunantunich, one of Belize’s most impressive Maya cities. Standing at the base of “El Castillo,” the second tallest structure in the country, you’ll climb to the top for breathtaking views of the jungle and the Guatemala border. With a guided tour lasting 3–4 hours, you’ll uncover plazas, temples, and intricate carvings that tell stories of Maya rulers and their traditions.
But the journey doesn’t stop there. Just outside San Ignacio lies Cahal Pech, one of the oldest known Maya sites in Belize. Unlike the towering grandeur of Xunantunich, Cahal Pech offers a more intimate setting, with over 30 structures nestled close together. Walking through its plazas and residential palaces gives you a glimpse into daily life of the Maya elite over 1,000 years ago.
This combination tour blends two very different but equally fascinating sites, giving you a deeper understanding of the Maya world—its power, its culture, and its enduring legacy.
